50 Day Genesis Challenge, Day 6

"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD." 

                                - Genesis 6:8

This verse stands out to me so much. For me it is and always has been one of those verses that makes me want to be a better man. If there is one thing I want, in fact if I could only choose one thing to ever have or experience in my life, it would be this, to know that I have found favor in the eyes of the LORD. 

Lead me LORD, by Your Holy Spirit. Help me to walk in Your Favor. Fulfill in and through me the purpose for which I was born. Forgive me for all of my many failings and empower me to be the man You desire me to be. - Amen

50 Day Genesis Challenge, Day 5

"And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him." Genesis 5:24

I love this verse because it reminds me that I get to choose "who" I will be and "how" I will be known. Enoch chose to walk with God, and was known as a man who did just that, a man who "...walked with God." And, he walked with God in such a profound way that he captured the attention of God, and God took him. How cool is that?!?  

The Bible tells us that Jesus is coming back, and that we are closer now to that time than ever before. Am I choosing to walk with God in such a way that I am ready... to be caught up? Today I choose to walk with God as closely as I possibly can. And, if God gives me the time, I’m planning on doing the same thing tomorrow, and for every day following, as long as I have breath in my lungs, until Jesus comes back.

50 Day Genesis Challenge, Day 4

"And to Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of the LORD." Genesis 4:26

The phrase that speaks to me most here is... "Then men began to call upon the name of the LORD." I want to see a time like this, a time when people call upon the name of the LORD. I believe that NOW is a great time for a time like this to begin! NOW is a great time for a New Great Awakening! 

 If you’d like to join me as I pray for this very thing, set a reminder on your phone for every day at 3:16pm, and let’s call on the Name of the LORD together and ask Him to bring about a New Great Awakening!

"Then the LORD God called to the man and said to him, ‘Where are you?’"  

Genesis 3:9

I love this Verse because it reminds me that Jesus always looks for us. Even when we have failed Him and when we Hide, Jesus still comes to find us. Everyone else may fail and abandon us, but Jesus never will!

50 Day Genesis Challenge, Day 2

"For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh." Genesis 2:24

This verse means so much to me at this particular time in my life. My wife has been such a source of encouragement and strength, and I truly praise God for her. Thank you Father, for a wife whom you have placed in my life to walk with me through such a time as this.

"The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters." Genesis 1:2

This verse means so much to me as I look back over the past year. So many times as circumstances out of my control unfolded, it felt like things were dark, chaotic, and to be totally honest, there were many times I even wondered where God was. 

 This verse reminds me that even in the face of darkness, difficulties, and challenges, the Spirit of God is nearer than I can imagine. And, in those circumstances He is moving, hovering, and... ultimately He is preparing me for something transformational that He is about to speak into my reality.
