“Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. When you really think about it, this world doesn’t actually have all that much to offer us. Nothing, anyway, that really lasts, satisfies or endures the true tests of time. The reality of human experience is that we can, and often do, have “too much” of so very many things, and yet, though we have too much… we never seem to ever actually have enough. The Rolling Stones were right, we just “…can’t get no satisfaction!”
Unless, that is, we turn to Jesus. Jesus saves, satisfies, fulfills, and faithfully carries us in and through each and every day… if we’ll let Him.
